About 30 tremors were reported
between midnight and 7:00 on Monday in central Italy, the
National Institute for Geophysics and Volcanology (INGV)
reported.
The strongest was a magnitude-4 quake at 2:33 am with an
epicenter close to the Marche town of Castelsantangelo sul Nera,
near Macerata.
Meanwhile, students in the quake-hit cities of Ascoli
Piceno, Macerata, Norcia and San Benedetto returned to school on
Monday.
Middle and high school students in Norcia, which was hit by
Italy's biggest quake since 1980 last month, found a backpack
with the Italian flag and a copy of the constitution to welcome
them back.
The emergency in central Italy started on August 24, when a
6.0-magnitude quake killed 298 people.
Two more quakes shook the area on October 26, one measuring
5.4 in magnitude and the other 5.9. A further 6.5-magnitude
quake on October 30 was reported near Norcia.
