Carabinieri police on Monday
"evicted" tourists who had rented a villa that had been seized
on court order in 2011 because it belongs to the Giuliano clan
of the Neapolitan Camorra mafia.
The villa could not be legally rented out because it is a
seized mafia asset, the police explained to the summer tenants.
The incident took place in the village of Ischia on the
island of the same name in the Bay of Naples, a popular summer
tourist destination.
Police are checking out other homes and villas in the area.
