A Lecce magistrate working at the
supreme Court of Cassation and his wife were placed under
investigation Friday on suspicion of abetting prostitution by
letting out a central Lecce flat to sex workers, judicial
sources said.
The judge, who was not immediately named, allegedly let the
flat to Romanian prostitutes, charging them a rent above the
market rate, police said.
The flat was advertised on the Web as a holiday home, they
said.
After hearing reports of comings and goings at all hours,
police stopped two men who admitted they had had sex with young
women they had met on the Internet.
