A Milan judge on Tuesday
convicted three people in a fast-track trial related to the
violence that erupted during protests against Milan Expo 2015 on
its opening day, May 1, 2015. The most serious charges, that of
committing 'devastation', only held for one of the defendants,
Andrea Casieri, who was sentenced to three years and eight
months in jail. A fourth defendant was acquitted of all charges
and released from house arrest. Edoardo Algardi and Niccolò
Ripani got, respectively, two years and two months, and one year
and eight months, on charges of resisting arrest.
