A man was detained on charges of
aggravated double murder late Monday night after shooting dead
two men outside a Genoa bar.
Salvatore Maio, 62, opened fire on Adriano and Walter
Lamberti, two Italians of ethnic Sinti origin, after the latter
allegedly paid a compliment to a woman in the bar.
Adriano, 51, died on the spot while his son Walter, 27,
died in hospital shortly afterwards.
After the shooting, Maio reportedly took refuge at his
son's home in Voltri before being arrested.
Maio has confessed to the murders, sources said.
