Four Molotov cocktails were
thrown at the Carabinieri police's barracks in Via Aretina in
Florence overnight, ANSA sources said on Thursday. Only two went
off and no one was hurt. The ensuing flames stained the facade
of the barracks and burned the external motor of an air
conditioner. The attack was linked to scuffles earlier between a
group of youths at a cultural centre in which one person was
arrested after kicking a policeman and a knife was found on the
ground, sources said. The police moved in after two people were
stopped for urinating in public, sources said.
