A Milan appeals court on Thursday
confirmed a 14-year sentence for acid attacker Alexander
Boettcher and cut from 14 to 12 years the sentence for his
accomplice Martina Levato in the appeals trial for the attack on
student Pietro Barbini.
A prosecutor had asked the appeals court to uphold 14 year
sentences for former Bocconi student Levato and her broker
ex-boyfriend Boettcher for the acid attack on Barbini.
Levato said "I'm happy, it's proof that what I have done
has touched the hearts of the judges".
The woman has already been sentenced to 16 years in a
first-instance trial for other attacks while the broker was
sentenced to 23 years in a separate trial.
