A man was arrested late on
Wednesday after shooting dead his wife on the outskirts of Rome.
Augusto Nuccetelli, 51, followed Assunta Finizio, also 51,
into a bar in via di Lunghezza and opened fire, hitting her in
the chest, hand and stomach.
He allegedly then made his getaway before being apprehended
by police.
People who knew the couple said they frequently argued and
that they may have been in the process of separating.
Also on Wednesday, a 44-year-old man left his wife, 39, in
a coma after hitting her on the back of the head with a hammer
at their home near Monza.
He subsequently took his own life by throwing himself off a
bridge.
In this case too the couple were allegedly separating.
They have two children aged 8 and 2.
