A man died Thursday trying to
save his dog from an onrushing train. The man, 33, from
Bellaria-Igea Marina near Rimini, was hit at a level crossing
while running after two of his dogs who had run off. One of the
dogs escaped unscathed while the other was killed with its
master. The man's identity was not immediately known. There has
been a rash of deaths of people hit by trains in Italy lately.
