A court on Wednesday acquitted
six defendants on charges of abuse of power in the so-called
'Why Not' and 'Poseidon' investigations run by current Naples
Mayor Luigi de Magistris in his previous life as a
headline-grabbing prosecutor.
De Magistris received a 15-month suspended sentence in 2014
for allegedly obtaining the telephone data of some MPs without
proper authorization in the Why Not case.
The court acquitted former Catanzaro adjunct prosecutor
Salvatore Murone, lawyer, MP and former Forza Italia (FI)
regional coordinator Giancarlo Pittelli, ALA MP Giuseppe Galati,
Calabria businessman Antonio Saladino, former prosecutor Dolcino
Favi, and lawyer Pierpaolo Greco.
