(ANSAmed) - Luxembourg, April 18 - Foreign Minister Paolo
Gentiloni said Monday there was a "discrepancy" between what
Austrian ministers say and "what is apparently happening on the
ground" as an anti-migrant wall is being erected at the Brenner
Pass. "I haven't lost hope that, beyond symbolic gestures and
declarations, we can collaborate. Because we all know that
raising a wall in that place, the Brenner Pass, would have very
serious economic and symbolic effects for Europe." Vienna has
been erecting the 250-metre wall on its side of the border in
light of an expected mass flow of migrants across the
Mediterranean into Italy.
