Finance police have seized assets
worth 25 million euros from suspected affiliates of the Casalesi
clan of the Neapolitan Camorra mafia, sources said Wednesday.
Some assets also belonged to suspected members of the
Guarnera clan that moved from Campania to the outlying Rome
district of Acilia in 2003.
They included 10 slot machine and construction companies,
18 units of real estate including luxury villas in Abruzzo,
Rome, and Sardinia, 12 cars and motorcycles, and several bank
accounts and stock portfolios.
The properties were ultimately traced back to Mario and
Salvatore Iovine, Sergio and Sandro Guarnera, Petrit Bardhi,
Franco Crispoldi, Fabrizio Diotallevi, Albanian boxer Orial
Kolaj, and Arben Zogu.
Investigators say the two clans entered into a joint
venture to split up the slot machine market with Rome gangsters
including Luciano Crialesi and Renato Santachiara from the
infamous Magliana Gang.
