United Nations special envoy for
Syria Staffan de Mistura on Thursday announced that talks
between the Syrian government and the oppositions will resume in
Geneva on April 13, two days later than expected, Al Jazeera TV
reported. Speaking in Geneva, de Mistura voiced the hope that
the upcoming round of talks would focus on "a concrete and real
start to the political transition". The UN envoy added that he
will soon leave for a new mission that will take him to Damascus
and Tehran for fresh talks with the Syrian and Iranian
authorities.
