Finance police on Thursday seized
documentation on the nominations of public health officials made
by Campania Governor Vincenzo De Luca.
Naples prosecutors are probing De Luca's health adviser
Enrico Coscioni for allegedly improperly pressuring a regional
official to quit his post.
On Tuesday, Salerno city prosecutors requested an
indictment for De Luca on charges of forging a legal document in
connection with an urban renewal project in the port city during
his tenure as mayor.
De Luca is reportedly one of 27 suspects for whom
prosecutors are seeking indictments over possible irregularities
in planning permission for a huge new square.
