Carabinieri police on Wednesday
seized assets worth over 3.5 million euros on charges they were
the fruit of drug trafficking.
They were seized from Stefano Ledda, 45, and Marco Cadeddu,
36.
Both are behind bars since a November drug bust that saw 11
suspects nabbed including alleged crime boss Albino Portoghese.
"This is the first time this kind of seizure has been
carried out in Sardinia," police said.
"It is very difficult to build an asset seizure case on the
premise of criminal association and international drug
production and trafficking charges".
The assets included 11 buildings as well as bank accounts,
cars, and luxury watches.
