A man swallowed a fake 100-euro
banknote Wednesday in a vain bid to evade arrest.
The man entered a dental clinic in Pozzuoli near Naples and
asked the secretary to change the note which he said he had been
given in his shop, under the clinic.
The woman refused after the banknote tested false and two
off-duty policeman who had seen what happened followed the man
into the street.
He promptly put the note into his mouth and, to give
himself time to swallow it, started a scuffle with the
policemen.
He was arrested.
