A man was arrested for
premeditated murder on Tuesday after allegedly killing his ex
girlfriend and then trying to take his own life.
Davide Tomasi, 37, was found by police on Monday night in a
deep sleep next to the body of Monica De Rossi, 46, in an
unfinished property in a Grisignano di Zocco in the province of
Vicenza.
De Rossi, a real estate agent and divorced mother of three,
had been stabbed from behind.
Investigators believe Tomasi lured her to the property on
the excuse that he needed help finding somewhere to live.
Following the murder Tomasi, a diabetic, is said to have
injected a large dose of medicine.
He is currently receiving hospital treatment but his
condition is not said to be life-threatening.
The couple separated last summer after just a few months
but Tomasi allegedly continued to send De Rossi messages and
small gifts.
