Premier Matteo Renzi told the
executive of his Democratic Party (PD) Monday that the
government was ready to pass a conflict of interest bill,
denying critics' claims it was a government influenced by
lobbies. "People who steal from a public works project must go
to jail, if they plea bargain they must return the last cent
because that is one of our reforms," he said. We passed a bill
on environmental crimes and we want to vote a bill on conflict
of interests. They should accuse others of being a government of
lobbies, I say it's my task to make sure a project blocked for
years should be realised".
