Russian Orthodox Patriarch
Kirill told Cuban leader Raul Castro in Havana Friday that he
"placed great hope in the meeting with Pope Francis" later in
the day at Havana airport, TASS reported. It will be the first
meeting between the heads of the two churches since the 1054
Great Schism. The historic meeting marks a thaw in relations
between them, which have seesawed over recent years.
