A new medical centre that will
offer free care for children in the advanced stages of terminal
illnesses is set to open in Milan in 2018, its organisers said
on Tuesday.
The project, launched by the Vidas association for the
terminally ill, is supported by Italian fashion designers Dolce
& Gabbana and actors Silvio Muccino and Lella Costa.
Work on the six-storey centre is due to begin in 2016.
"The project brings together values we believe in firmly,"
said Milan Mayor Giuliano Pisapia. "We will do everything to
collaborate and limit the bureaucratic steps needed to make this
happen," he added.
