Carabinieri police on Tuesday
arrested a top Camorra mafia boss who had been on the run since
2013 and was considered one of Italy's most dangerous fugitives.
Michele Cuccaro, 49, was wanted on charges of mafia
association, homicide, drug trafficking and smuggling, among
other crimes.
He was captured in the southern Lazio town of Latina
without putting up resistance.
Cuccaro is thought to be the head of a clan operating in
the eastern part of Naples province and was on the interior
ministry's list of the 100 most dangerous fugitives.
His brother Luigi was arrested in Naples in June, when
crowds intervened to try to prevent police from taking him away.
