An Italian journalist was fired on orders of a Camorra crime boss, anti-mafia journalist Roberto Saviano reported on Thursday in Italian newspaper La Repubblica.
According to the article, an anti-mafia investigation revealed wire-tap conversations that detailed the firing of Enzo Palmesano, 57, from a Naples-area newspaper on the request of Vicenzo Lubrano, boss of an organization linked with the Corleone mafia.
Saviano said that a Lubrano relative met with the newspaper director to call for the dismissal of Palmesano.
"But how is it that this story remains in the shadows?" Saviano questioned.
