(ANSA) Rome, March 24 - A meteorological depression on its
way from North Africa is set to worsen Italy's weather sharply
with heavy rain and gusting winds expected over much of the
peninsula, the Civil Protection department said Tuesday.
Widespread rainfall is expected Wednesday morning first in
Piedmont and Emilia-Romagna while storms accompanied by heavy
rains are expected to blow up later over Lazio, Abruzzo, Molise,
Basilicata and Puglia.
Gale force winds are forecast for eastern areas of
Emilia-Romagna and the Marche region.
