The Architects' Council of
Europe (ACE) and the European Forum for Architectural Policies
(EFAP) on Wednesday launched a Manifesto for Sustainable Cities
that calls on the European Union to adopt an integrated urban
development policy.
The manifesto calls on the EU to be united in its approach
to energy efficiency, waste management, and other urban-related
issues.
It also calls for any public spending making cities safe,
sustainable and ecologically sound to be exempt from the EU
Stability and Growth Pact restrictions.
