DNA samples taken from a body
found in countryside near Turin at the weekend is "compatible"
with that of Elena Ceste, a housewife who went missing in the
area early this year, investigators said Thursday.
The body was found on October 18 in an advanced state of
decomposition during work to clean a drainage canal at Isola
d'Asti in the northern Piedmont region.
Ceste, 37 and a mother of four, disappeared from her home
in Costigliole d'Asti on January 24.
Investigations were ongoing.
