Twenty million visitors will attend Milan's Expo 2015, "guaranteed," Giuseppe Sala, commissioner for Expo 2015, said on Monday in an interview on Radio 24.
Sala's forecast is based on the fact that 5.8 million tickets have already been sold, and Sala said Italian Premier Matteo Renzi is "very convinced".
"I would have liked more ruthlessness in the approach to tourism promotion and we're still behind," Sala said.
Sala said tourism promotion should focus on bringing visitors not only to cities like Venice and Florence but also lesser-known parts of Italy.
