A mother whose 17-year-old
autistic daughter has been refused admission into high school
twice is now appealing to the courts for assistance.
"If the court accepts our appeal, I'll enroll my daughter
in high school in February," said Maria Rosaria Mirto, mother of
Sara.
"For now, I'll enroll her also, for the third time, in
middle school".
Mirto said that she considers the refusal to accept her
daughter's enrollment as discrimination, and said, "I'm
receiving messages of solidarity from all over Italy".
