(ANSA) Milan, July 8 - Silvio Berlusconi's elder son Pier Silvio was acquitted in the Mediatrade fraud case at his Mediaset empire Tuesday.
The prosecution had requested a prison term of three years and two months for Pier Silvio Berlusconi for alleged wrongdoing.
Also acquitted was Mediaset Chairman Fedele Confalonieri, Silvio Berlusconi's long-time business right-hand man.
Prosecutors had asked for a term of three years and four months for Confalonieri.
The pair were accused of fraud in the purchase of film rights by Mediaset.
Eight other people were acquitted.
Three-time premier Berlusconi was initially also implicated in the Mediatrade case but his position was shelved in 2011 due to lack of evidence.
