(ANSA) - Rome, October 30 - Premier Matteo Renzi on Friday
hailed the Expo world's fair as a victory for Italy.
"Few thought a miracle was possible. But this country is
strong, solid, authoritative. Ours is a brave Italy, that
doesn't dodge its challenges, but faces them and wins them," he
said.
"Thanks Expo. Long live Milan, long live Italy".
The premier thanked "the workers, the visitors, the
organisers."
Looking back to the Expo graft probes burgeoning when he
took over as premier in February 2014, Renzi said: "it was the
first problem I found in the premier's office: scandals,
arrests, polemics.
"We believed in (Expo), all together. And Italy won, not
the government".
