(ANSA) - Milan, October 27 - Start-ups from Italy, Israel,
the United States, Romania, Montenegro and Macedonia were
competing for the Youth for the Elderly Prize for innovative
projects targeting elderly people to be awarded at the Israel
pavilion at Expo on Tuesday.
The projects to come before the jury included Optimizing
Memory Management, a system for optimising memory function,
presented by a team from the United States; the robotic hand
Hand Hand created by a team from Italy; ChairWaze, an innovative
wheelchair system; the new social network Hand N Hand, by two
teams from Israel; communications aid SeniorApp designed by a
team from Romania; Elder Watch, a technological watch for use in
emergency situations created by a team from Macedonia; and the
friendly robot Dan by a team from Montenegro.
The winner of the prize launched by the Israel pavilion in
partnership with Ernst&Young and Hype (Youth Startup Foundation)
will be announced at 5pm local time.
