(ANSA) - Milan, September 28 - The National Association of Italian Municipalities (ANCI) is hosting a series of events at Expo's Cascina Triulza on Monday to promote local cultures from around the country.
Among these is an event on truffles organised by the Truffle Cities Association, which is trying to have truffles included on the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage list.
The association also organised a "sensory lab" in which participants will be able to discover truffles through their senses.
A similar group dedicated to Italy's world-famous olive oil - calling itself the Oil Cities Association - will parade down Expo's main street in medieval costumes and playing bagpipes, flutes and tambourines to evoke a historic atmosphere in promotion of the day's events.
This is to be followed by a seminar on the history of olive oil later in the day.
Sicily will be represented in an event on the Mediterranean diet -featuring a documentary titled The Garden of the Gods - and there will also be a talk on tourism from the Sorrentine Peninsula group.
