(ANSA) - Bologna, September 28 - Some 300 Italian pastry
chefs next month will attempt to create the largest cake in the
world at the 25th edition of the Milan Hobby Show coinciding
with the Milan Expo universal exposition, organisers said
Monday.
Luca Porretto, a young pastry chef from Bologna specialised
in theatrical cakes and nicknamed the "cake wizard" has been
appointed by Italy's National Association of Cake Designers to
lead the team in the enterprise between Thursday October 1 and
Sunday October 4 in the presence of Guinness World Records judge
Lorenzo Veltri.
The cake based on sponge pastry is expected to weigh more
than a tonne and will have the form of the Italian boot
including recognisable topographical features.
