(ANSA) - Milan, January 22 - Milan Mayor Giuliano Pisapia said Thursday he is "very tranquil" about security at the Expo 2015 world's fair, adding that recent alarmism appeared to be mere speculation.
"I know the government has promised reinforcements and I am certain of it," he said on the margins of the Campione prize-giving ceremony at Palazzo Marino, the northern Italian business hub's town hall.
"I have almost daily contacts with those responsible for keeping public order, I know the level of security, prevention and controls is extremely high".
"Clearly there are problems, the alarm must not be lowered, attention must always be high but it seems to that there are concerns based on hypothetical elements and not on real evidence".
