(ANSA) - Rome, January 21 - Tourism at Expo 2015 is expected
to generate 5 billion euros of revenue, said Expo CEO Giuseppe
Sala on Wednesday.
Sala said the number is realistic given that 20 million
people are expected to visit Expo 2015.
"It's the number I like the most, together with that of
participating countries' foreign investments of around one
billion euros, of which 90% has gone and will go to Italian
businesses," Sala said.
With just 100 days until the world's fair opens, Sala was
visiting Rai headquarters to present the February 7 "Expo of
Ideas" event, where over 500 people will meet at the Hangar
Bicocca art museum in Milan to draft Expo's Milan Charter.
Sala said plans are already being made about what to do with
the various Expo sites once the fair ends in October.
"The commitment is to dismantle everything by June 2016, but
before that date I'm sure that solutions will be found so as not
to abandon the area," Sala said.
