Italy's tax burden will be 42.1% in
2024 and 42.4% in 2025, the government's DEF economic and
financial blueprint says.
"The tax burden will be reduced in 2024 to 42.1 per cent (from
42.5 per cent in 2023, ed.) to rise in 2025 to 42.4 per cent and
settle at a slightly lower level in the final two years of the
forecast period", according to the part of the DEF dedicated to
'Analysis and public finance trends'.
Total general government revenues general government revenues as
a ratio of GDP decrease in 2024, by one percentage point
compared to 2023, standing at 46.8 per cent, and are expected to
increase in 2025 by 0.3 percentage points percentage points in
2025 and decreasing in the following years, to reaching 46.2% in
2027. Tax revenues are progressively decreasing, from 29.6% in
2023 to 28.9% in 2027 in 2027.
