Ferrovie dello Stato (FS) rail
group CEO Gianfranco Battisti is set to fly to Atlanta this week
to meet Delta Airlines CEO Ed Bastian with the aim of hammering
out a business plan for Alitalia by Easter, sources close to the
talks said Wednesday.
FS is handling the partnership talks of the former national
carrier, which also involve EasyJet.
The negotiations between Alitalia, Delta and EasyJet should
pave the way for a new plan to be hammered out by Easter, going
slightly past the original deadline of March 31, sources said.
