The government will cut a
"jungle" of 140 labour laws and replace them with a single code
by the end of the year, Labour Minister Luigi Di Maio said
Monday.
"Before the end of December a labour code will be ready that
will simplify the jungle of 140 laws, in which you can't
understand anything any more," he told reporters.
"The plan is to abolish 140 laws and put them together in a
single labour code.
"It is my priority to make sure that workers and employers
know what law applies to their problems.
Di Maio, leader of the anti-establishment 5-Star Movement
(M5S), is also deputy premier and industry minister.
