Facebook Italia will give 500,000
euros to the Italian Red Cross to help quake relief, FB founder
and CEO Mark Zuckerberg told students at Rome's private LUISS
university Monday. He said the money would be in the form of "AD
credits to the Red Cross that can be used on the Facebook
platform to promote the most needed activities: fund raising,
looking for volunteers, asking for blood donations, and getting
in touch with people who need a place to stay". The
6.2-magnitide August 24 quake that hit central Italy killed at
least 290 people and made thousands homeless.
