The transport ministry said
Monday new car registrations were up 2.9% at 136,275 in July
compared to the same period in 2015. Deliveries equaled
1,179,068, up 17.1% compared to the first seven months of 2015.
Fiat Chrysler Automobiles outperformed the market in July,
with sales +4.8% compared to July 2015 and new car registrations
+19.1% in the first seven months compared to the same period
last year.
The brands that stood out in July included Jeep (+18.7%)
and Alfa Romeo (+6.1%) with a rise in sales of the new Giulia
model while Fiat added 4.3%.
FCA held overall market share of 28.8%, up +0.5%.
