Italy's antitrust authority on
Wednesday said greater transparency was needed in the market for
vaccines after a fact-finding survey revealed "various critical"
situations in terms of competition.
It said there were "major information shortcomings on
costs" and a "need for unambiguous, transparent medical
decisions, also in order to correctly direct demand".
The regulator also pointed out that the global vaccines
market was worth "over 20 billion" and was "dominated by an
oligopoly of four multinational companies".
