Banca Popolare di Vicenza CEO
Francesco Iorio on Friday downplayed worries that the bank
wouldn't have enough free float to list on the Milan bourse.
"Even having read that this theme is very concerning, I'm
fairly calm that there won't be the issue of free float and that
the bank will have a high probability, if not a near certainty,
of being listed," Iorio said.
Ailing bank BP Vicenza is seeking to raise capital with an
IPO underwritten by the Atlante fund, a new private fund to aid
struggling Italian banks to help avert the risk of bail-ins and
keep the national banking system stable.
Iorio said BP Vicenza would debut on the Milan bourse on
May 3, and said "if the bank goes on the market at 0.10 (euro
cents a share) it would be an excellent result".
