Bad loans in the Italian
banking system are 11.2% of total loans, the IMF said Wednesday,
noting this was well above the eurozone average of 4.3% and
compared to 6.7% in Spain and 2.8% in the UK. The IMF also said
the amount of bad loans in the eurozone was some 900 billion
euros and the risks of global financial instability had
increased.
