ISTAT said Tuesday that Italy's GDP
rose by 0.1% in the first quarter with respect to the previous
three months and by 6.2% compared to the same period last year.
The national statistics agency explained that it had revised up
the figure after reporting negative growth of 0.2% in
quarter-on-quarter terms in its preliminary estimate last month.
ISTAT said consumer spending dropped by 0.6% compared to the
final quarter of 2021 but increased by 5.2% in year-on-year
terms.
The carry-over annual GDP growth for 2022 is equal to +2.6%, it
said.
