Italy will block migrant rescue
NGOs like Sea Watch from landing in Italian ports, Interior
Minister Matteo Salvini reiterated Monday.
"The open ports policy has turned the Mediterranean into a
mass grave with 15,000 deaths," he said.
"Now, to take one example, if the Sea Watch ship were to
collect immigrants in Libyan or Maltese waters and want to come
to Italy, we would block it with all the legal measures we have
at our disposal".
Salvini has clamped down on migrant NGO migrant rescue ships
and turned several away over the last few months.
