ISTAT said Friday that Italy's annual inflation rate was 1.6% in August, up from 1.5% in July, but lower than the initial flash estimate of 1.7% that it had given for last month. The national statistics agency said its consumer-price index was up 0.4% in August in month-on-month terms.
