Spain are favourite in a key
World Cup qualifier in Madrid Saturday, Italy's Daniele De Rossi
said Thursday - but the Azzurri will not be "sacrificial lambs".
"Saying that Spain is favourite is not wrong, but we're not
going there to be a sacrificial victim," said the Roma
midfielder and captain.
"We'll play for the win, aware that we can pull off a little
coup."
Italy have not qualified for next year's World Cup in Russia
yet.
They are joint top of European qualifying Group G with Spain
with 16 points from six games, although the Spaniards have a
better goal difference.
The September 2 match looks set to be decisive to see who
will qualify as group winners and who will have to take part in
a playoff.
