Pope Francis said Thursday that major conferences do not suffice to make peace, stressing the need for everyone to work for it on a daily basis.
"Peace is a gift," the pope said in a homily at Mass at Casa Santa Marta, the residence where he lives inside the Vatican, according to Vatican Radio.
"It's an artisan gift that we have to work, every day, in the little things.
"Big events, big international meetings, do not suffice if you don't make peace in the little things. "You can speak of peace with wonderful words and have a big conference.
"But if in your heart there is no peace, in your family there is no peace, in your district there is no peace, at your workplace there is no peace, there won't be peace in the world either".
