Pensions and social security agency INPS said Monday that the number of domestic workers in Italy dropped 2.26% to 886,125 in 2015 from the previous year.
However, although workers in the sector have been shrinking since 2013, the number of Italians working as domestic help rose 4.23% in 2015, compared to the previous year, for a total of 213,931 workers.
Foreigners employed as domestic help in 2015 dropped 4.16% from 2014 to reach 672,194 workers, INPS also said.
