The European Parliament is set
to give its final approval to importing an extra 35,000 tonnes
of Tunisian olive oil a year without duties. The measure was
urgently put on the EP voting agenda for Thursday after the
28-strong Committee of Permanent Representatives in the European
Union (COREPER) approved amendments to overcome a suspension of
the measure last month. The anti-establishment 5-Star Movement
(M5S) said the acceleration of the measure was a "disgrace for
the government" of Premier Matteo Renzi.
