Italian defence and aerospace
giant Finmeccanica said Monday it has signed a deal with
Canada's civil aviation services provider Nav Canada to
modernise the radar used in air traffic control systems at the
country's 12 biggest airports.
The work is scheduled for completion by 2027, a statement
said.
The project involving Toronto, Montreal, Ottawa, Vancouver
and Calgary airports among others is "second only to the
4-Flight programme for the new domestic air traffic control
system, currently under development," Finmeccanica added.
The group has supplied air traffic control radar systems to
over 150 countries worldwide, the statement concluded.
